What are Volunteer Rostering Conflicts?

Availability Conflicts, Qualification Conflicts, Role Conflicts, Shift Conflicts, and Event Conflicts.

When a Volunteer is not the Best Match for a specific Shift, an alert icon displays beside their name. This is what we call a Conflict. There are five different kinds of Conflicts.

Availability Conflict

There are two reasons for an Availability Conflict:

  • If a Volunteer has not filled in their availability.
  • If a Volunteer has marked themselves as unavailable during the selected Shift time.

Qualification Conflict

A Qualification Conflict occurs when a Volunteer is missing one or more of the Qualifications needed for the selected Shift.

Role Conflict

A Role Conflict occurs when a Volunteer is missing one or more of the Roles needed for the selected Shift.

Shift Conflict

A Shift Conflict occurs when a Volunteer is already scheduled for a Shift during the same time period.

Event Conflict

An Event Conflict occurs when a Volunteer is scheduled for another Event during the same time as the currently selected Shift.
