When volunteers sign up for organizations or opportunities, organization and opportunity managers often require the volunteers to complete a registration form. The form questions typically pertain to that organization or opportunity so the manager can decide on roles and shifts to assign to you.
Some form questions are required for you to become a member of that organization or opportunity. These questions are marked with an asterisk. If you try to submit a form without answering all required questions, an alert appears, and Bloomerang Volunteer highlights the questions with missing answers.
Note: Depending on your answer to a question, follow-up questions might appear. If follow-up questions appear, make sure to answer them. If you can’t submit your questions or move on to the next step, confirm that you have answered all required questions.

Pre-Populated Answers
You might complete a registration form for more than one opportunity within an organization. In new opportunity registration forms, answers to some questions may already appear for a few reasons:
- The pre-populated answers are for questions relating to the organization, which you only need to answer once per organization.
- The organization manager imported your information into Bloomerang Volunteer and pre-entered those answers.
Standard Questions
You might be asked to answer some routine questions created by Bloomerang Volunteer. Depending on which questions your manager has enabled, you will see some or all of the following:
- Bio
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- T-Shirt Size
- Mobile Phone Number
- Address
- Emergency Contact
The answers to standard questions are stored within your account, meaning that:
- Your answers to the questions remain consistent across all organizations you are part of within Bloomerang Volunteer.
- You are the only one who can edit or remove your answers.
Note: If an organization or opportunity manager created the account for you, the manager is temporarily in charge of any volunteer data that was pre-entered or imported into Bloomerang Volunteer. After you claim the account, you become the owner of that data instead.
To view your answers to most standard questions, click your profile icon on any page in Bloomerang Volunteer, then click Edit Profile. To view your answers to waivers and group registration questions, open the organization page or opportunity page, then click Edit Signup. A window appears with the answers you entered.
Waiver Questions
Some registration forms include waiver questions specific to the organization or opportunity. Waiver questions are always required and appear as either a checkbox agreement or an electronic signature.
To create and submit an electronic signature, use your mouse, a stylus, or your finger to sign, depending on your device. Make sure to sign clearly within the signature box. If you need to erase your signature, click Clear and sign again. When you are finished signing, click Next Step.
Note: When you sign or update a waiver in Bloomerang Volunteer, your responses are saved in the system. If an admin completes or updates it for you, their account is associated with that submission instead. If your account is deleted by you or an admin, all your personal data and waiver signatures are permanently removed and cannot be recovered, even if you create a new account.
File Uploads
If form questions are a required part of your signup process, you may need to upload a file as a part of an answer.
The form question prompts you to choose a file to upload. Select a file from your device. If the file you select is too large, you receive an alert and must edit the file’s parameters outside of Bloomerang Volunteer.
Note: Bloomerang Volunteer supports most typical file types, but some file types are unsupported.
