What is a Shift?
A Shift within Bloomerang Volunteer contains all relevant information about when and where the user will be volunteering/working.
Within an Opportunity, you may be required to work shifts. Shifts are scheduled at the Opportunity Level and are used to help define the Schedule. There are a few defining factors that a shift needs in order for a shift to be scheduled.
There will always be a Role within the Shift that you will be performing. Roles are typically the tasks, jobs, or positions that the user is doing. Unless the Manager had set up the Opportunity to allow overlapping Shifts, users will only be able to select one Role per Shift when signing up.
